Ford has not launched a new vehicle in the country for a long time, but the company continues to provide midlife updates to its existing vehicles. is. After the EcoSports, Aspire and Endeavor, the hatchback Figo is now introduced in a new avatar. What is new in the new Ford Figo and how different it is from the past, let us know in the test drive report of this car:

The changes you saw in the new Aspire few days back, Figo on the same linesUpdates have also been given to The grille, bumpers have been redesigned. The profile of the fog lamp also resembles that of the Aspire. The use of silver alloys and chrome has tried to give the Titanium variant a premium look, but the real newness is seen in the new blue variant. Black grille, black alloy and dual tone roof give it a sporty car look. Apart from the fog lamps, the interior also has blue inserts. This variant of Figo looks more fresh and different.

The Interior
of the biggest changes in the interior meets as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The build quality and fit-finish are good, with premium features such as leather wrapped steering. However, overall design could be made more trendy and modern. The front-rear seats offer good head, leg and shoulder room, although not much comfort will be available if three people sit in the back. The boot space is also an average, and the cabin is provided with a small space to hold luggage.

Engine
Ford Figo has three engine options. The 1.5-liter diesel engine gives around 99 Bhp of power and 215 Nm of torque. The 1.2-liter petrol engine gives power of around 95 Bhp. Both of these come with a manual gearbox. The third engine is a 1.5-liter petrol engine giving power of 122 bhp and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Ford vehicles are known for their fun-to-drive factor. Here you will have more fun driving the diesel variant which gives excellent power according to the segment. The 1.2-liter engine looks stronger on paper, but you will feel lighter than the diesel, although if you have to drive less and drive more in the city, then this engine will be best for you.

Both engines offer good mileage (25.5 kmpl diesel and 20.4 petrol). However, if you are fond of automatic and want more powerful variants, then 1.5 liter petrol engine will be fit, but here mileage will have to be compromised. As before, the handling of the new Figo is excellent and we did not get any complaints from the ride quality either. The diesel engine and handling are two big plus points of the new Figo.

Features like safety dual airbags, ABC-EBD, parking sensors, tilt steering are standard. In the top variant, 6 airbags have been given for safety. The automatic variant has separate safety features. The 7-inch touchscreen system is easy to use and smooth, but it lacks features such as Apple Car Play and Android Auto, which are now available even in entry-level cars.

Who will compete?
The new Figo seems to be dominating most important fronts, but its problem is its competition. It will compete with Maruti Suzuki Baleno and vehicles like Swift, Hyundai i20 and Grand i10, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and Mahindra KUV100. Especially in this segment, moving Hyundai and Maruti's kingdoms will be the biggest challenge for Figo. However, in addition to giving a 5-year standard warranty, Ford has also claimed to have low maintenance.
